A.S Nymo has been responsible for the detailed design of the drilling modules for the Stena Drillmax Fleet (Drillmax 1,2,3 and 4). National Oilwell Varco (Kristiansand, Norway) has been responsible for the system design and drilling equipment.
 
The Stena Drillmax fleet is being built by Samsung Heavy Industries as their Geoje shipyard in South Korea. This fleet of drillships are designed and certified for year-round world wide operation in ultra deep waters.
 
The latest generation drillship is able to operate in harsh environment areas such as the Norwegian and Barents Seas down to -20°C (including operations in Barents Sea extreme winter conditions). These vessels are designed for high efficiency and safety providing optimum layout for exploration, appraisal and development drilling, batch drilling and multiple well clusters, well testing, completions, installation of subsea facility components, well interventions and surface BOP operations.
 
Stena Drillmax fleet is equipped with hydraulic drilling package. The modules have twin mast (main mast with 907 mT lifting capacity and an auxiliary mast with 544 mT) and complies with all current Norwegian regulations.
